What is the Editorial Review service?
The Editorial Review entitles you to an experienced editor who reviews a sample of your manuscript. You'll have the opportunity to peruse
the sample edit performed on pages within your manuscript. You will also receive a brief report that includes comments about the overall editorial state of your manuscript. If the reviewer feels your manuscript would benefit from additional editing, he will suggest an editorial service. You are not obligated to follow the advice presented in the review; you have the final decision.

What are the steps involved in the Editorial Review process?
After submitting your manuscript in a Microsoft Word document, an editor will review your first chapter or section (or the beginning 1,650 words). Spelling, grammar, typos, sentence structure and overall flow will be taken into account during this comprehensive, thorough review. Changes, corrections and comments made by your editor will be tracked using the "Track Changes" function within Microsoft Word, at which point you can either accept or reject their changes.
Additionally, the reviewer will provide you with a brief report than includes a general overview of your manuscript as well as constructive comments on how to improve your book. Also, your reviewer will recommend any editing services he or she feels are necessary. You'll receive both the report and sample edit via e-mail once they are completed, typically within two to three weeks.
Based on these comments and editorial modifications, you can then either opt for additional Wordclay editing services, independently hire a freelance editor, make the changes yourself, or use your current manuscript as it is.

Are there any restrictions on the Editorial Review? The only restriction on the Editorial Review service is the word count, namely the first 1,650 words or first chapter of your manuscript, from which the reviewer will gleam the scope and intent of your book as well as make suggestions.

Can I select chapters or sections other than the first to be reviewed?
Yes, we sometimes allow different sections or chapters to be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, but be aware, however, that it can be difficult for the reviewer to grasp the direction, intention and complexity of your work by starting too late in your manuscript.

Will my professional editor review the content of my manuscript?
Yes. In addition to correcting typos and grammar, your assigned editor will also make suggestions about the development of ideas and characters, the flow of your paragraphs, as well as the general theme or feeling you are trying to evoke.
