What are the steps involved in the process of Retail Return Insurance?
After you purchase Retail Return Insurance, Wordclay will register your self-published book as returnable. Once your book is listed as returnable, we will send you a verification letter via U.S. mail showing that the book is returnable. This is your confirmation that the service has been completed successfully and will be covered for one year.

Are there any requirements for Retail Return Insurance?
Yes, you must also purchase retail distribution in order for this service to be functional.
How long does it take before my book is returnable?
The timeframe takes anywhere from 3-8 weeks before your book is listed as returnable in Ingram's system, depending on when you purchase the service and when your book is first made available for purchase.
If you are in the waiting period between when your have purchased the Retail Return Insurance and the time that it is listed as returnable, we will honor the returnability if a retailer would like to place an order directly through Wordclay.

How long does it take for my book to show up as returnable in retailers' systems?
It depends on the type of retailer (online or brick-and-mortar), the retailer chain (Borders, Barnes and Noble, etc.) and the individual store how quickly your book will show up in their system as returnable. A standard time frame is anywhere from 30-60 business days.
What can I do if a retailer says my book is not listed as returnable in their system?
If a retailer says that your book is not returnable in their system and you recently had confirmation that your book is indeed returnable, you can reassure them that your book is fully returnable through Ingram and if you have a copy of your book on ipage®, you can show this as proof. However, if they are still unsure, supply the retailer with our contact information and let them know they can order the book directly through Wordclay as returnable and we will be happy to talk to them regarding the return status. Additionally, please contact us if a sufficient amount of time has passed but the book is still not listed as returnable in a retailer's system so that we can look into the problem further.
If it has been some time since you last had confirmation about your book's return status, please contact Wordclay and we can verify that your book is indeed still listed as returnable.

When should I renew my Retail Return Insurance?
We will send you an email reminder when it is time to renew, and you can track your purchase date through your Author Account Panel. You can renew your Retail Return Insurance at any time and it will add on another year to the expiration date, not the date of renewal. Renew 2-3 months before your expiration date to avoid any gaps in coverage.
What happens if I do not renew my Retail Return Insurance before it expires?
If you do not renew your Retail Return Insurance before the one year time expires, your book will no longer be returnable. You can still opt to add on the service again, but you will have to wait the allotted time again (3-8 weeks) for your self-published book to first be listed as returnable through Ingram, and then be listed as returnable through other retail chains.

Can I return books that I purchased and get a refund?
No, only retailers are eligible for the Retail Return Insurance policy.
How long does a retailer have to return my book after it is purchased?
